Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (RTÉ One, 6.40pm) 

This week’s Big Big Movie is the Harry Potter spin-off set in 1926, following eccentric British wizard Newt Scamander, who lands in NYC with a suitcase full of wonderful beasts. A magical adventure ensues when his case gets swapped.

Ireland’s Got Talent (Virgin Media One, 7.30pm) 

Lucy Kennedy presents the opening show in the second series of the talent contest, and welcomes back judges Denise Van Outen, Michelle Visage, Jason Byrne and Louis Walsh. 

They Shall Not Grow Old (BBC Two, 9pm)

Peter Jackson’s documentary exploring World War One, edited from rarely seen archive footage from the Western Front which has been restored and colourised, while lip readings of the men featured in the footage have allowed their speech to be reconstructed. The film also includes archive interviews with servicemen from the BBC and the Imperial War Museum.

Jack & Dani: Life After Love Island (Virgin Media Two, 10pm) 

The reality series continues. The pair of them head to the Far East to make some arrangements for Dani’s clothing line, and with Jack preparing to launch his stationery line, it looks like things are working out very well for the couple. That’s until a shock announcement means that their relationship might be damaged beyond repair. 

Africa with Ade Adepitan (BBC Two, 9pm)

Ade Adepitan embarks on the first leg of his epic four-part journey around Africa. Starting in West Africa, this episode sees him travelling from Cape Verde to Senegal and the Ivory Coast, before finishing in Nigeria – the country of his birth. In Cape Verde, Ade visits a community living in the shadow of an active volcano and witnesses how solar power is transforming the lives of communities there. In Senegal, he visits Goree Island and learns about the island’s sobering history from the transatlantic Slave Trade. Ade checks out places of note in every country on his journey, and discovers a group of young people training hard on the Ivory Coast to make it as professional footballers in Europe’s big leagues, learning how they’re often exploited, scammed and taken advantage of by dodgy agents. 

Invasion – The Outbreak of World War II (RTÉ2, 6.35pm)

Documentary telling the story of Hitler’s Poland Campaign. Despite only lasting six weeks, it was a war of unprecedented brutality, resulting in tremendous suffering for the Polish people. Jewish people were herded into Ghettos, other residents were imprisoned in camps for forced labour or displaced to make way for German settlers, and hundreds of thousands became victims of the Nazi murder machine.

• Ireland’s Got Mór Talent (Virgin Media One, 9pm) Glenda Gilson and James Kavanagh present the extra show that supplements Ireland’s Got Talent. 
• The Greatest Dancer (BBC One, 7.30pm) Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo host a dance talent show, where dancers of any age and dance style compete for a prize of £50,000 pounds and the opportunity to dance on Strictly.
• Deep Impact (BBC Two, 7.10pm) Sci-fi blockbuster. Journalist Jenny Lernerat believes she has uncovered a major sex scandal. That is until she’s abducted for a secret meeting with a president, where she learns that there’s a comet on course to collide with Earth. 
• The Ray D’Arcy Show (RTÉ One, 9.35pm) The usual. 
• The Voice UK (Virgin Media One, 9.30pm) Episode 5 features even more blind auditions.

Sunday

• A Wild Irish Year (RTÉ 2, 7.25pm) New series taking a view all across the country, from Ireland’s wild coasts, mountains and woodlands to farms, towns and cities. 
• Dancing with the Stars (RTÉ One, 6.30pm) It’s the third week of eliminations. 
• Les Misérables (BBC One, 9pm) The army prepares to make another attack on the barricades as the fighting grows more vicious and desperate. 
• Super Bowl LIII: Los Angeles Rams v New England Patriots (Sky Sports Mix, 10pm) Mark Chapman presents live Super Bowl coverage from Atlanta. 
• Hotel in the Clouds (Virgin Media Two, 8pm) Documentary about the first few months in the life of London’s newest five-star hotel, the Shangri-La in the Shard. The hotel is the £90 million flagship of an Asian hotel empire and one of the first hotels in the UK to offer traditional Asian hospitality. 
• Resistance (RTÉ One, 9.30pm) A price is placed on Ursula’s head and she and Tomás prepare to flee for America. Jimmy confronts Brogan in the midst of the Bloody Sunday Massacre. Last in the series. 
• Guinness Six Nations Highlights (Virgin Media One, 9pm) A comprehensive round-up of the action from the opening weekend of the Guinness Six Nations, including Ireland’s match against England at the Aviva.
